水ノ上窯の器とは
中国の宋白磁や李氏朝鮮時代の白磁、また古墳時代の須恵器にあるような凛として佇まいのある器です。

萩で12年の修行を経て山口市洞春寺の境内に2021年、独立開窯（かいよう）。
現在(2022年)使われてる素材は鉄分少なめの陶土に洞春寺境内で取れた赤土を混ぜたものと磁器土の2種類。主に使っている釉薬は雑木の灰を使った土灰釉に銅分が含まれた鈞窯釉、織部釉を還元焼成で仕上げている。最近は無釉による炭化焼成を研究中。
シンプルな中にも美しさと機能性を備えた稀有な器です。

What is the Mizunoue Kiln's pottery?
These are dignified pottery, as in Chinese Sung white porcelain, Yi Dynasty white porcelain and Sue ware from the Kofun period.

▶︎ Mizunoue Kiln (Gakuji Masui)
After 12 years of training in Hagi, he opened his own kiln in 2021 in the precincts of Doshunji in Yamaguchi City.
Currently (2022), two types of material are used: low iron content earthenware clay mixed with red clay from the precincts of Dongchun Temple and porcelain clay.
The glazes mainly used are an earthen ash glaze made from the ashes of miscellaneous trees, a copper-rich cup glaze, and an oribe glaze finished by reduction firing.
Recently, he is researching carbonised firing with no glaze.

It is a rare vessel with beauty and functionality in its simplicity.
