ヘチマとセルロースで作られた100%植物由来の土に還ることができるスポンジです。吸収力が高く、洗剤が少量でも汚れを落とすことができます。
ヘチマは沖縄県で昔から食用として親しまれ、乾燥させてスポンジとしても活用されてきました。セルロースの原材料は木材パルプや補強繊維として加える綿などの天然繊維からできています。mana.のキッチンスポンジは100％天然素材から作られており、焼却しても有毒ガスが出ず、土に埋めると自然分解されて土に還ります。

<使用方法>
使いはじめは水に30秒以上浸し、ヘチマにしっかりと水分を含ませてください。揉みほぐすことで更に柔らかくなります。使用後は水気を絞り、風通しのよい場所で乾燥させてください。乾燥すると硬い状態に戻りますが、軽く水を含ませることですぐにまた使用していただけます。スポンジが大きく使いにくいと感じた場合は、ハサミで半分に切って使うのをオススメします。

<使用期間>
１ヶ月前後を目安に使用してください。セルロース部分がへたってきたら交換時です。

<環境へのインパクト>
一般的に販売されているキッチンスポンジのほとんどが、ポリエステルやナイロンなどのプラスチックでできており、うっかり繊維がシンクから流れてしまうと、海や川に行き渡りマイクロプラスチックの原因となることがあります。海洋ゴミは年間800万トンと言われており、海に流失したプラスチックごみは塩分や紫外線によって細かく分解され、最終的にはマイクロチップとなって海に残り続けます。それを海洋生物が食べてしまったり、怪我をしてしまう恐れがあります。プラスチックは生産時、輸送時、焼却時と全ての過程においてCO2を生み出すものであり、いずれ枯渇する化石資源の石油を搾取して作られています。できる限りプラスチックを使用しない製品を選択し、プラごみを生み出さない事でサステイナブルな消費選択ができます。

This is a 100% plant-derived sponge made of loofah and cellulose that can be returned to the soil. It is highly absorbent and can remove dirt even with a small amount of detergent.
Loofah has long been enjoyed in Okinawa Prefecture for its edible qualities, and has also been dried and used as a sponge. The raw material for cellulose is made from natural fibers such as wood pulp and cotton, which is added as a reinforcing fiber. mana.'s kitchen sponges are made from 100% natural materials, do not emit toxic gases when incinerated, and naturally decompose and return to the soil when buried in the ground.

<How to use
At the beginning of use, soak the loofah in water for at least 30 seconds to thoroughly moisten it. Rubbing will further soften the loofah. After use, squeeze out the water and dry in a well-ventilated place. The sponge will return to a hard state when dry, but it can be used again immediately by lightly soaking it with water. If you find the sponge too large and difficult to use, we recommend cutting it in half with scissors.

<Longevity of use
Please use the sponge for about one month. When the cellulose part is worn out, it is time to replace it.

<Environmental impact
Most kitchen sponges sold in general are made of plastics such as polyester and nylon, and if the fibers are inadvertently washed away from the sink, they can end up in the ocean or rivers and cause microplastics. It is estimated that 8 million tons of marine debris is generated annually. Plastic debris that is washed into the ocean is broken down into smaller pieces by salt and ultraviolet light, eventually becoming microchips that remain in the ocean. Marine organisms may eat them or injure themselves. Plastic produces CO2 at every stage of production, transportation, and incineration, and is made by exploiting petroleum, a fossil resource that will eventually be depleted. We can make sustainable consumption choices by choosing products that use as little plastic as possible and do not produce plastic waste.
